This work tackles the heavy themes of death and romantic loss using fairy-tale imagery within a pastel-pink, surreal landscape. The giant skull at the center symbolizes memories of the past or the remnants of a vanished love. Inside the skull’s eye sockets, two small doll-like figures stand affectionately, metaphorizing the memory or bond that persists eternally despite loss. A bizarre entity, such as an octopus with rabbit ears, stands beside the skull, visually representing the confusion and strange emotional states that follow love. The work explores the traces of destruction and renewal left by love in a romantic yet haunting manner.
