Invade #04 (2025)

This installment in Prathueang Kampat’s ‘Invade’ series uses the intense complementary contrast of blue and orange to create a visually explosive depiction of overwhelming energy and primal presence. The artwork features the face of a colossal primate or ape-like figure that fills the entire foreground. The stark complementary contrast between the vibrant orange that forms the background and parts of the figure, and the deep cobalt blue that dominates the face, creates a visual shock and emphasizes the explosive energy emanating from the creature. The animal’s face is rendered with complex blue and yellow brushstrokes, creating a texture that suggests an electrified or gold-infused substance. In particular, the irregular, dendritic yellow patterns covering the face give the impression of a mystical inner power breaking through the surface of the skin. The eyes are deep and dark, hinting at the creature’s primal and spiritual insight.
