Elephant 2024

‘Elephant’ by artist Chayanisa Sriwichainan uses intense colors and patterns to create a joyful and mysterious image of the elephant, a symbol of Asia. Against a blue, swirling background, the elephant’s form is filled with vibrant and ornamental motifs. Large pink and blue flowers surround the elephant, and small birds fly around it, adding energetic vitality. The elephant’s body is divided into geometric sections, each filled with spiral, polka-dot, and golden patterns. This work reinterprets the majesty of the elephant with a fanciful and kitsch beauty, elevating the elephant—a symbol of blessing and good fortune—into a being that embodies all the colorful joys of the world.
