Pastel-Hued Stories Between Dreams and Reality

Saengrawee Klangmanee

Delicate Lyricism and Fairy-Tale Fantasy — Reflections of Healing in a Blue-Haired Girl’s Gaze
Saengrawee Klangmanee is an emerging contemporary artist from Thailand, creating worlds of nature and fantasy centered around her signature character — a girl with distinctive blue-toned skin and rabbit ears. Her figures inhabit reality yet carry the ethereal quality of someone stepping out of a fairy tale. Placed alongside symbolic elements such as rabbits, butterflies, flowers, and forests, they explore themes of innocence and growth, solitude and solace. In the 2023 group exhibition Fractured Realities, Saengrawee’s “Blue Girl” character captured the fragmented emotions of modern life, leaving a strong impression on viewers. Her canvases are not mere fantasies, but healing spaces where the wounds and hopes of reality are expressed metaphorically. Saengrawee gently whispers to her audience: “Within you still lives the pure girl of your childhood.”
