Aesthetics of shapes and objects 0.3 (2024)

This artwork adheres to the traditional composition of a still life but presents a surreal arrangement that poses contemplative questions about time and loss. Classical still life objects like an antique clock, pitchers, and bottles are arranged on a table, yet the background is a vast cosmos filled with red and black nebulas. White doves fly around the clock, each carrying an old pocket watch tethered to its feet, metaphorically suggesting the transience of life through the contrast between the passage of time and the symbol of eternal peace (the dove). By placing these familiar ‘shapes and objects’ within a cosmic setting, the artist explores the existential ‘aesthetics’ and meaning that ordinary objects hold within the flow of time.
