‘Safe Zone Safe Me No.1’ by artist Sutee Lekpanyawat interprets the peaceful sanctuary of a lonely self through the imagery of a science-fiction fairytale. A silver, robot-like figure sits perched on a large, transparent bubble, floating through the sky. The robot’s face is painted in a warm, apricot tone, contrasting with the cold metallic body and suggesting a lingering sense of human emotion. Surrounding the figure, fluffy, pure white cats drift alongside the bubbles, symbolizing ideal and innocent companionship. The bubble serves as a metaphor for a fragile protective shield and a ‘Safe Zone’ temporarily separated from the chaos of the world. The work expresses the modern psychological need to protect oneself in isolation and the inner longing for the purest form of connection through a dreamy and tranquil vision.
